Family

Statistics

Families now make up 40% of the homeless population and one out of every four homeless individuals is a child! Unfortunately, families are the fastest growing segment of the homeless population. The number of classified homeless children in Humble ISD exceeded 550 in 2008. There are many more who are “hidden homeless,” staying with family or friends, that are not recognized in that number. And this is only one school district that we serve in our community.
